Hello Friends,

Its time to gear up for another Walk To Cure Diabetes! Please help us at BECK Property Company support this very special cause. I think you all know that my 13-year old niece, Ashley, has Juvenile Diabetes. Today there is no cure.



When Ashley was first diagnosed 6 years ago, we had to inject her with at least 8 insulin shots per day! Luckily, she now wears a “pump” that acts like a computer to help regulate her sugar level. The pump “site” still must be changed every 3 days, which entails inserting a large needle attached to tubing similar to an IV. This used to be very frightening for young Ashley, but she has learned to cope with this process in order to function daily. After attending Camp Kudzu in 2005, Ashley learned how to change the pump site on her own!

We at BECK Property Company are dedicated to finding a cure for this deadly disease and work diligently with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for type 1 juvenile diabetes and its complications. After more than 30 years of funding promising research, we can confidently state that a cure for juvenile diabetes is on the horizon.

For us, “Dedicated to a Cure” is more than a mission statement – it is a Call to Action!! With this in mind, we are asking you to support JDRF’s mission by becoming a sponsor for Ashley’s Angels 2009 WALK TO CURE DIABETES Team.

The WALK will take place at Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park on Saturday, October 17th, 2009. Details for this event can be found at www.jdrfgeorgia.org. The responsibility is now upon us to maintain this momentum.
